Eastgate Community Church

Mission's Update

The vision of Eastgate Community Church is to make an IMPACT in our city, state, nation and around the world.  This Mission's Update will keep you up to date on the missionaries we support as well as share with you opportunities in how you can become involved as well.

We will be receiving an offering the first Sunday of each month to help bring this about.  We will be working with our foriegn missionaries in building Churches, schools, orphanages and purchasing food and clothing for many.  Please seek God's will for how you might participate in this endeavor.

If we can assist you in making an IMPACT not only at home, but around the world as well, please don't hesitate to let us know.  Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our mission's ministry. We can be reached at 513-722-1428.

I am very thankful that God allowed me to go on a mission trip to the country of Romania.  God is definitely working in the lives of the Romanians.  While in Romania our group stayed at a church called Salem. We would travel to different parts of the city and help the citizens in several different ways.  We also would help out around the church.  Half of our group worked with the younger kids preparing a lesson for them, while the other half planned activities and a lesson for the junior high.  Both groups were very successful in their teachings.

We also worked with another group doing Vacation Bible School.  We worked with children in a small village as well as children in government housing.  Each lesson talked about a story found on the Bible such as  Cain and Able or Abraham and Isaac.  It was lots of fun getting to see the children learn.

We also helped work at a type of daycare for poor gypsy children.  We worked with a wonderful woman named Rachel who would take care of the children by bathing them, feeding them, and giving them a warm place to sleep.  It was great getting to help all of the children there.  Many of the children live in very unsanitary and incredible hot houses made of just stone and dirt.  The living arrangements are definitely not great.

Overall my trip to Romania was excellent and showed me how fortunate we as Americans are.  It was very inspiring to see how even though the people had very little they still chose to give all they had to God.

May God continue to bless the country of Romania and the church at Salem.

***Next month we will have another young person who has made three trips to Romania doing mission work.
